Embedded Systems Engineer
Company Overview
World Star Tech is a leading manufacturer of laser systems for biomedical, instrumentation, and machine vision applications. Located in Markham, we operate out of a modern facility and are currently seeking a dynamic, high-performing Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter with excellent technical and communication skills. They must have a proven track record of developing and deploying high-quality software/firmware. Key Responsibilities
- Develop firmware and graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for new and existing products, including laser markers, spectrometers, analyzers, and medical devices.
- Create software solutions for in-house automation using robotic systems.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team (electronic, software, and optomechanical) at the forefront of innovation.
Basic Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or a related technical field with 2+ years of industry experience.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, following object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience developing firmware for STM32 microcontrollers or similar, including use of timers, I2C/UART/SPI, DMA, ADC, and other peripherals.
- Experience in GUI design for desktop and/or embedded touchscreen applications.
- Ability to write clean, readable, and well-documented code.
Bonus Qualifications
- Comfortable working across abstraction layers, from low-level embedded systems to high-level system architecture.
- Experience with C# and .NET for desktop application development.
- Familiarity with TCP socket programming and cloud-based services.
- Experience with image processing
