About the Role

Reed Semiconductor is seeking a passionate and driven DC/DC Power System and Application Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. In this high-impact role, you will bridge the gap between silicon design and real-world system applications, driving the success of our cutting-edge DC/DC power solutions to meet strategic market demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Silicon Validation & Board Design
  • Collaborate with system engineering teams to execute silicon validation and generate comprehensive test reports.
  • Design, build, and debug Evaluation Modules (EVMs) and optimized reference schematics tailored to key customer scenarios.
  • Customer Enablement & Technical Support
  • Guide customers through schematic/PCB design reviews and bench validations to ensure first-pass PCBA success.
  • Conduct technical training sessions for Field Application Engineers (FAEs) and customers; provide optional on-site support during initial system bring-up.
  • Technical Documentation & Roadmap Support
  • Author clear, high-quality technical documentation, including product Datasheets, Application Notes, and EVM User Guides.
  • Collect field feedback and market insights, collaborating directly with IC design teams to define and enhance next-generation DC/DC power products.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of high-density power converter topologies and advanced control methods.
  • Proven experience or strong knowledge of Point-of-Load (POL) converters, E-Fuse, and 48V input (48Vin) power architectures is a significant plus.
  • Hands-on proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar).
  • Strong familiarity with power component selection, passive sizing, and thermal management strategies.
