Lead Engineer – AI & Product Engineering

About the role

We are looking for a hands-on Lead Engineer – AI & Product Engineering to take ownership of building and scaling our product from 0→1.

You will work closely with the founders to make key technical decisions, design scalable systems, and build AI-powered product capabilities. This is a high-ownership role for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering problems and turning ideas into production-ready products.

What you’ll do

• Own backend architecture and core product engineering.
• Build and deploy AI-powered features using LLMs, RAG, embeddings and AI agents.
• Design and develop scalable APIs and integrations.
• Work with databases, cloud infrastructure and production systems.
• Make architecture and technology decisions across the product.
• Build reliable, maintainable and production-ready systems.
• Work closely with founders and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Take ownership of projects from concept → development → deployment.
• Help establish engineering practices and mentor other engineers as the team grows.

What we’re looking for

• Strong hands-on experience with Python and backend development.
• Experience building applications using LLMs and Generative AI.
• Practical experience with RAG, vector databases, embeddings and/or AI agents.
• Strong understanding of system design and software architecture.
• Experience building and deploying production APIs.
• Experience with cloud platforms, Docker and CI/CD.
• Strong problem-solving and ownership mindset.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.
• Experience building products from 0→1 is highly valued.
