Hogan Mainframe Developer Senior

Role Overview

This is a senior Hogan IDS support and problem management role supporting deposit applications. We're looking for someone who can investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, advise development teams, and serve as a trusted subject matter expert. This is not a hands-on application development role and not a Java-focused position. That positioning should help significantly reduce the volume of unqualified Hogan keyword-stuffed resumes Erin has been seeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose unknown issues quickly

• Understand system behavior across multiple applications

• Determine what failed and why

• Restore service rapidly

• Document resolutions

• Recommend preventive improvements

• Share knowledge with junior team members

• Act as a subject matter expert

• Advise Change-the-Bank development teams

• Help determine solution approaches

• Explain complex Hogan behaviors

• Provide guidance more often than writing code

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience in lieu of a degree).
• Strong Hogan experience
• Ability to support critical production systems
• Fit within a very high-performing team culture
• Advanced troubleshooting ability
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Deep Hogan system expertise
• Capability to operate within a mission-critical environment
• Production support in critical banking systems
• Deep Hogan IDS experience
• Deposits domain expertise
• Strong mainframe background
• COBOL
• JCL
• CICS
• VSAM
• Working knowledge of DB2
• Production support experience
• Incident management experience
• Root cause analysis experience
• Exceptional problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting multiple Hogan applications

• Banking core deposits knowledge

• Ability to mentor junior staff

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to work independently during major incidents
