Senior Frontend Developer

Our client, a growing technology start-up, is seeking an experienced Senior Front-End Developer to help design, build, and deliver the next generation of its B2B digital products and services.

Working as a key contributor within a cross-functional team, you will help shape the architecture and delivery of a new enterprise-grade platform designed to meet the security, reliability, and technology standards expected within government and financial services environments. This role is primarily focused on modern front-end development while also requiring experience working with APIs, middle-tier services, and supporting back-end technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain modern web applications and supporting services.
• Build responsive, scalable, secure, and highly available customer-facing applications.
• Develop reusable UI components and maintain clean, modular, and maintainable code.
• Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to application architecture and technology decisions.
• Integrate front-end applications with APIs, back-end-for-front-end (BFF) services, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Apply front-end performance optimization, security, accessibility, and responsive design best practices.
• Develop robust applications that support enterprise risk and change management requirements.
• Champion engineering best practices including secure coding, automated testing, code reviews, source control, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain unit, integration, and front-end automated tests.
• Leverage source control, build automation, and CI/CD pipelines to support reliable software delivery.
• Troubleshoot complex application, integration, performance, and production issues.
• Collaborate with product, design, architecture, security, infrastructure, and development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and development practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on modern front-end application development.
• Proven experience developing customer-facing web applications within enterprise environments.
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, JSON, AJAX, and DOM manipulation.
• Strong experience with one or more modern front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
• Experience with UI frameworks and technologies such as Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, jQuery, or similar.
• Strong understanding of front-end architecture, MVC and component-based design patterns, and software engineering principles.
• Experience developing and integrating with REST APIs, middle-tier services, BFF architectures, or similar integration patterns.
• Knowledge of one or more server-side or object-oriented programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or PHP.
• Good knowledge of relational databases and RDBMS concepts; Oracle experience is preferred.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, reliable, and highly available software solutions.
• Strong understanding of front-end security, performance optimization, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks, source/configuration control tools, and code review practices.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
• Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies, coding standards, testing, build processes, deployment, and production support.
• Experience delivering technology within environments requiring IT, security, risk, and compliance standards comparable to banking, financial services, or government organizations.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated initiative, accountability, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning.
• Proficiency working in a Windows environment; Linux experience is considered an asset.
