ST+B Engineering is a Denver-based MEP consulting engineering firm with a strong reputation in higher education, healthcare, and institutional work across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.
We have an immediate need for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to take primary design responsibility on a range of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, from early design through construction administration. This role carries real project ownership: you'll lead your own projects, manage schedules, coordinate directly with clients and design teams, and provide technical direction.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Design leadership: take primary design responsibility and responsible charge for mechanical systems across a variety of building types.
Production oversight: lead production of project designs, drawings, specifications, calculations, and equipment selection.
Quality: provide peer review and QA/QC of staff engineer work; mentor and develop junior team members.
Perform 3D Revit and/or 2D CAD work as needed.
Conduct onsite observations and contract administration for active projects.
Attend design meetings and OAC meetings as project lead.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
15+ years of mechanical engineering experience in the building design/consulting industry.
Colorado Mechanical PE license required, or actively preparing to sit for the exam soon.
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
Proven ability to lead a project team, manage schedules, and communicate directly with clients.
Strong problem-solving skills and sound engineering judgment applied to new situations.
Great attitude and strong people skills; non-negotiable.
WHY ST+B
Real ownership: you'll run your own projects, not just execute someone else's design.
Work/life balance: 9-hour days Monday–Thursday, half days on Friday. Unlimited PTO.
Flexibility: optional flex time, modified schedules, no corporate feel, small company.
BENEFITS
Major medical with vision and dental, plus employer contributions to HSA medical plans.
401(k) plan and flexible spending plan.
Short- and long-term disability, and life insurance.
Paid holidays.
How to Apply: Apply directly with your resume; cover letter optional. Or reach out to [email protected] and [email protected].
