Role Description This is a full-time Senior Data Engineer and Data Scientist role based in Kansas City, MO, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home. In this role, the individual will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and analytical platforms to support AI and advanced analytics initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and optimizing ETL/ELT processes, cleaning and transforming data, and implementing robust data quality and governance frameworks aligned with GRC requirements. The role also involves developing and deploying machine learning models, performing statistical and exploratory analyses, and collaborating with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations. The Senior Data Engineer and Data Scientist will document solutions, mentor teammates, and help establish best practices for secure, compliant, and reliable data and AI solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong data engineering skills, including experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and building data warehouses or data lakes.
• Applied data science capabilities, such as developing machine learning models, performing statistical analysis, and conducting exploratory data analysis.
• Proficiency with programming languages commonly used in data work (e.g., Python, SQL) and familiarity with modern data and ML frameworks or tools.
• Experience working with cloud platforms and related data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) to design scalable, secure data architectures.
• Knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) principles and the ability to incorporate data governance, security, and regulatory requirements into engineering and AI solutions.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise or Fortune 500 clients and working in AI or digital transformation projects is highly beneficial.
