Job Summary:
B&A is looking for a Business Analyst to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission.
The Senior Functional Analyst serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders, Human Resources, project management teams, and system users to support the implementation, configuration, enhancement, and optimization of HR technology solutions. This role is responsible for gathering requirements, facilitating stakeholder engagement, supporting system pilots and testing activities, developing policies and documentation, and ensuring successful adoption of HR systems and related business processes.
Responsibilities:
- Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business and technical requirements.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements-gathering sessions.
- Develop and maintain business process flows, use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with development and testing teams to ensure requirements are correctly implemented.
- Manage and track requirements and project activities using Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
- Support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and retrospectives.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions.
- Develop functional specifications, process documentation, and training materials.
- Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), issue resolution, and production support activities.
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Monitor project progress and provide status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Project Analyst, or related role.
Required Skills:
- Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite, and collaboration tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Desired Skills:
- Experience supporting federal government programs.
- Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Experience with process modeling tools such as Visio or Lucidchart.
- Familiarity with SQL and data analysis techniques.
- Experience with Agile tools and frameworks.
- CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, Scrum Master, or Agile certifications.
Security Clearance
- ACTIVE CBP clearance.
