We are currently building the early product and technology foundation and are looking for an SDE Intern who wants to contribute directly to building real software products at an early-stage startup.
About the Role
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) Intern who can help us build, improve, and scale MAVR's technology products.
This is not only a coding internship.
You will work across:
Product development
Backend and API development
Frontend development
Database design and integration
Third-party services and APIs
Testing and debugging
Performance and reliability
Internal tools and product infrastructure
You will work closely with the founders, product team, designers, and other developers.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to features that are intended for real users rather than working only on practice projects.
What You'll Work On
Software Development
Build and maintain features across MAVR's web and mobile ecosystem.
Convert product requirements and designs into functional software.
Develop clean, readable, maintainable, and reusable code.
Work on both new features and improvements to existing functionality.
Participate in the complete development lifecycle from idea to deployment.
Frontend Development
Depending on your skill set, you may work on:
Responsive web interfaces.
Dashboards and admin panels.
Trainer, athlete, and gym experiences.
Authentication and onboarding flows.
Profiles and account management.
Workout and progress experiences.
Data visualization and analytics.
Client and business management tools.
Reusable UI components.
API integrations.
Backend Development
You may also work on:
REST APIs and backend services.
Authentication and authorization.
Database design and queries.
User and profile management.
Workout and fitness data.
Trainer-client relationships.
Gym and business data.
Notifications and integrations.
Business logic and application services.
API performance and reliability.
Database & Integrations
You will get exposure to:
Designing and working with databases.

Identify and fix bugs.

Use Git and version control effectively.
Participate in code reviews.

What We're Looking For
You should have:
Basic-to-strong understanding of programming fundamentals.
Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
Experience with at least one programming language such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, C++, or similar.

Understanding of APIs and client-server architecture.
Basic understanding of databases and SQL or NoSQL concepts.
Familiarity with Git and GitHub.

Internship Structure
This is currently an unpaid internship.
We are therefore looking for someone primarily interested in gaining hands-on startup engineering experience, building meaningful products, learning through real development work, and taking ownership of technical tasks.
Candidates should apply only if they are comfortable with the unpaid nature of the internship.
The internship is expected to be 3 months, with the possibility of a larger role depending on performance, contribution, and business requirements.
