Position Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled systems engineer with a heavy emphasis on networking to solve complex infrastructure problems and enhance communications within the organization. This important role will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the organization's enterprise network and cloud architecture, ensuring that our systems are secure, reliable, and accessible for business-critical functions. The ideal candidate is a proactive contributor who can work with stakeholders to understand existing systems, networks, and technologies to operate, improve, and integrate them as the business grows. This position is full-time and is in the Kansas City, Missouri area.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, systems engineering, public cloud infrastructure, or related field, with a proven track record of maintaining SLAs and providing friction-less experiences.
  • Extensive experience managing Palo Alto, Cisco, and Juniper technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security concepts.
  • Experience supporting multi-site and cloud-based networks.
  • Knowledge of how to design and implement Aruba wireless networks and HPE Aruba Clearpass Policy Manager.
  • Scripting experience with Python and Powershell to automate various Microsoft 365 or internal processes.
  • Experience managing and maintaining VMWare environments.
  • Experience with AWS technologies, including EC2, EKS, Fargate, and Cloudwatch.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus within the IT team and with other business units.
  • Professional certifications in networking preferred.
  • Telecommunications industry experience preferred.

Summary

Primary Responsibilities

  • Implementing and troubleshooting network and infrastructure systems of various technologies;
  • Implementing and maintaining Palo Alto Firewall and Aruba Wireless infrastructure across the organization;
  • Administering Cisco and Juniper devices;
  • Administering an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment for use within the organization;
  • Installing and Managing Windows Servers;
  • Installing and Managing Linux Servers (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS);
  • Assisting with technical requirements for new software applications;
  • Administering Microsoft 365 & Entra ID;
  • Administering Microsoft Active Directory in an on-premises environment;
  • Managing an on-premises VMWare environment;
  • Assisting with systems integration/migration between two separate environments;
  • Handling IT Service Management trouble tickets as advanced-level support for internal users;
  • Administering current backup and restore procedures with Dell Avamar and Veeam;
  • And assisting in server/systems Change Management processes and upgrades as necessary.
