About the job

Cal Paso Solar Electric is a solar and electrical contractor focused on providing reliable solar energy, battery storage, and electrical solutions for residential, commercial, and agricultural customers. We are looking for an organized, dependable, and customer-focused Remote Solar Project Coordinator to join our growing operations team.

The Solar Project Coordinator will play an important role in keeping solar projects organized and moving forward from the initial customer agreement through permitting, installation, inspection, utility coordination, and project completion. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys coordinating multiple moving parts, communicating with customers and internal teams, and making sure deadlines and documentation are handled accurately.

The successful candidate does not need to perform field installation work. Instead, this is a remote operations position supporting our field crews, project managers, customers, permitting activities, and office operations.
Position Summary

As a Remote Solar Project Coordinator, you will serve as a central point of communication throughout the solar project lifecycle. You will track project milestones, maintain accurate customer and project records, coordinate schedules, communicate with customers and team members, and help ensure that projects progress efficiently.

You will work closely with project managers, solar designers, electricians, installers, permitting agencies, utilities, vendors, and customers. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential because each project may have different equipment, permitting requirements, utility procedures, and customer expectations.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in solar, construction coordination, project administration, electrical contracting, permitting, customer service, or a related industry.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate residential, commercial, and agricultural solar projects from contract through completion.
Maintain accurate project information in the company's CRM, project-management software, spreadsheets, and other systems.
Track project milestones, deadlines, permits, inspections, equipment, utility requirements, and installation schedules.
Coordinate communication between customers, project managers, designers, installers, electricians, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
Contact customers regarding project updates, scheduling, documentation, site requirements, inspections, and next steps.
Schedule and coordinate installation appointments, inspections, utility-related activities, and other project milestones.
Monitor project status and identify delays, missing information, or potential scheduling issues before they affect the customer or installation team.
Assist with solar permitting and utility interconnection paperwork as needed.
Follow up with permitting authorities and utility companies regarding project status and outstanding requirements.
Ensure required customer documents and project paperwork are complete and properly filed.
Coordinate with purchasing and operations personnel to help ensure required equipment and materials are available for scheduled installations.
Maintain organized digital project files, including contracts, permits, plans, correspondence, inspection documents, and completion records.
Help project managers prepare project status reports and identify projects requiring immediate attention.
Respond promptly and professionally to customer questions by phone, email, and other approved communication channels.
Assist with resolving customer concerns and escalate technical or field-related issues to the appropriate team member.
Update customers regularly so they understand where their project stands and what to expect next.
Coordinate post-installation documentation and project closeout activities.
Assist with monitoring solar projects and customer service requests after installation when needed.
Perform other administrative and coordination responsibilities related to solar project operations.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in project coordination, construction administration, solar, electrical contracting, customer service, or a related field preferred.
Solar industry experience is strongly preferred but not required for candidates with relevant project coordination experience.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Comfortable communicating with customers, contractors, vendors, utilities, and government or permitting agencies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, email, and CRM/project-management software.
Ability to learn solar-specific software and company processes quickly.
Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills.
Professional and customer-service-oriented attitude.
Reliable high-speed internet and a suitable home-office environment.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

The following experience is a plus:

Solar PV or battery-storage industry experience.
Experience with solar permitting or utility interconnection.
Experience working with electrical contractors or construction companies.
Familiarity with residential solar project lifecycles.
Experience using solar CRM or project-management platforms.
Knowledge of California permitting and utility processes.
Experience coordinating field technicians or installation crews.
Experience reading basic solar proposals, project documentation, or electrical plans.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this position means keeping projects organized, customers informed, and internal teams prepared. You will be expected to identify problems early, follow up consistently, maintain accurate records, and make sure every project milestone receives appropriate attention.

A successful Project Coordinator understands that excellent communication is just as important as administrative accuracy. Customers should know what is happening with their project, project managers should have accurate information, and field teams should receive the information they need before arriving at a job.
Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary: $55,000–$75,000, based on experience, solar-industry knowledge, technical skills, and qualifications.

Additional compensation and benefits may include:

Paid time off.
Paid holidays.
Company-provided training.
Opportunities for professional development.
Potential performance-based bonuses.
Remote work flexibility.
Opportunities for advancement within solar operations and project management.

Benefits and bonus eligibility are subject to company policy and applicable employment requirements.
Work Environment

This is a fully remote position supporting solar projects throughout the company's service area. The employee will communicate regularly with customers, project managers, office personnel, field crews, vendors, permitting agencies, and utility representatives.

Because project coordination often involves time-sensitive communication, candidates must be responsive during scheduled business hours and able to manage multiple priorities without constant supervision.

Occasional travel, meetings, or in-person training may be requested depending on company needs.
Why Join Cal Paso Solar Electric?

This position provides an opportunity to become an important part of a growing solar and electrical business while helping customers transition to cleaner and more reliable energy solutions.

You will have the opportunity to develop valuable experience in solar project management, permitting, customer operations, construction coordination, and renewable energy. For the right candidate, this position can also provide a path toward Senior Project Coordinator, Project Manager, Solar Operations Manager, or other leadership roles as the company grows.
How to Apply

Candidates interested in the Remote Solar Project Coordinator position should submit a resume highlighting relevant experience in solar, construction, project coordination, electrical contracting, customer service, permitting, scheduling, or operations.

Please include a brief description of your experience managing multiple projects, communicating with customers, and coordinating deadlines or field operations.

Cal Paso Solar Electric is an equal opportunity employer. We value dependable, organized, customer-focused individuals who are interested in building a career in the renewable energy industry.
