About the job
Please read before applying
We are not looking for a generic resume or AI-written cover letter. Your application must include answers to the 9 questions at the end of this post. Applications without specific answers and links to past work will not be considered. For this role - your skin in the game and willingness to take risk matters here.
About us
We are building an AI-first venture studio - a house of consumer apps where we rapidly build, launch, learn, and scale the products that show promise.
Our goal is to ship one app every one to two weeks. Some apps will begin as partially developed products, and you will be responsible for taking them from their current state to a reliable, launch-ready product.
You will work directly with the founder, a former Head of Growth at a leading consumer-tech company who has helped scale products to 25 million/monthly users. This is an opportunity to learn product thinking, experimentation, growth, and company-building - not just software development.
What you will own
You will be the first engineer and take end-to-end technical ownership of each app:
- Understand the product requirement and turn it into a working app
- Complete partially built apps and ship them quickly
- Build Android interfaces, backend integrations, databases, and APIs
- Implement OTP authentication and user management
- Build LLM-powered chat, streaming responses, conversation history, prompts, and model integrations
- Set up analytics, crash reporting, notifications, and production monitoring
- Use AI coding tools effectively to develop, debug, test, and document faster
- Create reusable components and automation systems so each subsequent app can be launched faster
- Own releases, technical decisions, reliability, and iteration after launch
Who we are looking for
You are likely a strong fit if you:
- Have built and shipped at least one real mobile app
- Understand Android development and can work with APIs and databases
- Have worked with Firebase, Supabase, or a similar backend
- Have experimented with LLM APIs or AI-powered product features
- Use AI tools to accelerate your work without blindly trusting generated code
- Learn unfamiliar technologies quickly and unblock yourself
- Have good product sense and care about the complete user experience
- Communicate clearly and take responsibility for outcomes
- Are comfortable with speed, ambiguity, and frequent experimentation
- Can work remotely initially and are open to working in person in Bengaluru
This is not a role for someone who wants only predefined tickets, extensive supervision, or a conventional low-ownership job.
Compensation and opportunity
Initial compensation will be ₹20,000-₹25,000 per month, based on ability and availability.
For the right person who consistently takes ownership, ships reliably, and helps an app achieve meaningful growth, there will be performance-linked incentives and the possibility of app-linked financial upside. As the business grows, we want the person building it with us to benefit from that growth and be part of our core team.
This can become a long-term, high-ownership role for someone who wants to grow into the technical leader of an app portfolio. Finance wise as well, as the app grows, your salary will continue to increase. So your skin in the game and williness to take risk matters here.
How to apply
Please answer these questions: (Any AI-written responses would be automatically rejected)
- Share links to your two best apps, APKs, or live projects. What exactly did you build yourself?
- Tell us about one product you took from an idea or incomplete state to a working release. How long did it take?
- Which AI coding tools do you use? Give one specific example where they helped you ship faster—and one example where their output was wrong.
- Imagine you inherit a partially built app with broken OTP login, incomplete chat history, and an LLM response that takes too long. You have seven days to launch. Briefly explain how you would approach it.
- What stack would you choose for an Android app with OTP authentication, persistent LLM chat, streaming responses, notifications, analytics, and a database? Why?
- What motivates you in life? What's your dream?
- Are you comfortable with the initial compensation and work in-person from Bengaluru?
- What's your life's greatest achievement till now? What's your biggest failure?
- What's greatest risk you have taken in life? What's your biggest strength and weakness?
Bonus: Record a short screen walkthrough of something you have built. We care more about what you can build, how you think, and how quickly you learn than degrees or years of experience.
