Role Description The Lead Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for guiding technical design and implementation across modernization and AI-integration projects. This role leads engineering teams in decomposing monoliths into microservices, driving cloud migration and CI/CD adoption, and ensuring robust, secure, and scalable solutions. The Lead Engineer collaborates closely with product owners, architects, and client stakeholders to refine requirements, propose solution options, and maintain technical roadmaps. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing code, setting coding standards, mentoring engineers, resolving complex technical issues, and overseeing performance, reliability, and observability of deployed systems. The role also involves evaluating new tools and frameworks, contributing to architectural decisions, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within quality expectations.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in leading engineering teams, including technical leadership, mentoring, code reviews, and setting development best practices.
- Proficiency in modern software architectures, such as microservices, event-driven systems, and distributed systems, with hands-on experience decomposing legacy monoliths.
- Deep experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including design, deployment, and optimization of cloud-native applications.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, and automated testing frameworks.
- Background in modernizing legacy systems (e.g., .NET, Java, PHP) and migrating applications to scalable, maintainable architectures.
- Experience integrating AI capabilities (LLMs, intelligent automation, predictive analytics, AI agents) into production systems is highly beneficial.
- Strong skills in system design, performance tuning, security, and reliability for high-availability enterprise applications.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in distributed, cross-functional teams and directly with clients.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field,
