Position Overview: AVX Defense Technologies is looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer with 7+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will be adept at implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines, systems administration, cloud technologies and ensuring robust security and compliance. Your expertise will be critical in supporting and enhancing our infrastructure and deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• CI/CD Management: Design, implement, and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitLab. Ensure efficient and reliable build and release processes.
• System Management:
• Administer services and applications, focusing on stability, security, and performance.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security, ensuring all updates are completed and functioning optimally.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting (Python, Go).
• Cloud & Virtualization: Develop and manage applications in AWS, Azure and on premises.
• Infrastructure as Code: Automate container deployment and management.
• Security Testing: Implement Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Reporting: Create comprehensive reports on code testing coverage, vulnerability analysis, software bill of materials (SBOM), and observability metrics to ensure compliance and quality standards.
• Automation: Develop automation scripts to streamline processes and improve deployment efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required.
• Experience: 7+ years of experience in DevOps engineering or a related field.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• CI/CD Tools: Proficiency in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Systems Administration: Some experience in system administration, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Virtualization: Hands-on experience managing virtual machines and containerized applications.
• Cloud Platforms: Strong knowledge and experience with Azure and AWS cloud services, including deployment, management, and scaling of applications.
• Testing: Experience with automated testing frameworks and practices to ensure software quality.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with additional cloud platforms or services.
• Experience with other CI/CD tools or platforms.
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards in a DevOps context.
• Experience with configuration management tools.
