About The Role
Join the core team of Wooorld and help us build the future of online social interactions. As a core team member, you will have full ownership and influence over this vision.
Since we are a fully remote company, you thrive in a remote collaborative environment, can quickly integrate feedback into your own vision of the product and work closely with designers and engineers to refine our overall vision. You are proactive in prioritizing tasks, communicating with your teammates and identifying ways to improve the UX. Our initial target milestone is the Oculus Quest Store launch. Some of the tasks your will work on include setting up a user account management system, API call optimization, user generated content management, simple user facing web interfaces as well as front end tasks.
Responsibilities
- Work across a full technology stack: from the cloud infrastructure, database layer, REST API, up through code that runs on VR HMD's.
- Write code in a diverse ecosystem that can be a mix of Node.js, mobile web, React, JavaScript, Amazon Web Services, and C# in Unity.
- Take full ownership of designing, implementing, running, optimizing and maintaining production code on Wooorld's 3D features, end to end
- Perform load testing, participate in code reviews, write unit tests, and conduct troubleshooting to ensure uptime for live systems.
- Proactively prioritize and implement new features based on Wooorld product roadmap and user feedback
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of engineering experience
- Knowledgeable with REST, API design patterns, and scalable containerized systems and microservices.
- Proficient in JavaScript and C#
- Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
- Strong desire to be part of the core engineering team building technology that has a direct path to building online social interactions of the future
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience deploying and maintaining production-ready server code
- Experience with Node.js, Express, Socket.io, MongoDB, AWS
- Experience with Unity
- Experience in game development, understanding of game development best practices
- Experience architecting, designing and leading implementation of a wide array of software products
