We're now entering our next chapter: building an AI-native enterprise health benefits platform supporting the ‘future of work’ representing increased Independent Contractors in all industries and gig platforms: 100K+ users by 2027 and 1M+ by 2030.

We're looking for a Founding Engineer with a player-coach mentality who serves as our internal technical partner – 80% build, 20% strategy. The Founding Engineer is an integral member of the founding team and has significant internal leadership growth potential as we build and refine our product vision in a category-defining company. The role is supported by our product architecture design consultants and a forthcoming CTO business advisor. The Role
RokketMed is hiring a Founding Engineer to build our product platform, owning the architecture and delivery, and working closely with the founder and leadership team on what gets built and why. You will be the first engineer on the team, building upon a product that exists in the market with real customers, and a clear path to hiring additional engineers as the product grows.

What You’ll Do

• Own the architecture and ship the product platform, making the key technical decisions as you build
• Collaborate with product/design on requirements, priorities, and user experience, translating product vision into technical execution
• Integrate with benefits administration and employer data systems, working across partner requirements and APIs
• Build the AI layer that powers the member experience, including evaluation, monitoring and iteration as models and tooling evolve
• Own the code quality, testing, CI/CD, and infrastructure, setting the foundation that the team and product grown on
• This role reports into the COO, but works with the founder and leadership team on what to build and how the product evolves over time

Who We’re Looking For

• You’ve shipped production software, and can walk through what you built, how it worked, and constraints over time
• You’ve shipped consumer-grade features and AI-powered products that served real users
• You build with the current generation of AI-development tools and workflows
• You’ve worked with regulated data (PHI, PII, financial data) in production, and you can speak to the security/compliance/architecture decisions involves
• You enjoy working in early-stage, dynamic, small-team environments
• Healthcare experience is welcome. What matters more is genuine interest in the problem and the people the solution supports
