About the job
Our client is seeking a hands-on IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operation, support, and strategic evolution of its enterprise IT environment across multiple locations. This leadership role combines people management with technical expertise, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable IT infrastructure while supporting business growth, operational excellence, and technology modernization.
The successful candidate will oversee infrastructure, networking, servers, telecommunications, vendor relationships, cybersecurity, and end-user support while leading a small IT team.

Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the IT department, providing both technical leadership and hands-on support.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the IT team, including recruitment, performance management, workload planning, and professional development.
- Maintain and enhance enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, telecommunications, and end-user technologies.
- Develop and execute infrastructure roadmaps, capacity planning, lifecycle management, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Ensure the availability, performance, security, and reliability of business-critical systems across multiple locations.
- Lead infrastructure upgrades, server migrations, network enhancements, and technology implementation projects.
- Collaborate with business leaders to identify opportunities where technology can improve operational efficiency and support business objectives.
- Provide strategic guidance on IT investments, infrastructure improvements, and emerging technologies.
- Manage IT hardware and software procurement, vendor relationships, licensing, and support contracts.
- Establish and maintain IT policies, procedures, standards, and documentation.
- Ensure data integrity, information security, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes are maintained.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and implement continuous improvements.
- Support relational database environments, enterprise applications, and business systems.
- Manage LAN, WAN, VPN, firewall, wireless, and branch connectivity infrastructure.
- Coordinate external consultants and technology partners on infrastructure and project initiatives.
- Provide technical support and leadership across all business locations as required.
- Ensure compliance with corporate security, health and safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure in a hands-on leadership role.
- Experience supporting multi-site organizations with 50+ users.
- Previous experience leading and developing technical support or infrastructure teams.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments, virtualization, storage, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Experience with server design, implementation, migrations, and upgrades.
- Working knowledge of high-availability and clustered server environments.
- Strong understanding of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, switching, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and branch connectivity.
- Experience administering Active Directory, Microsoft technologies, and enterprise productivity platforms.
- Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, cybersecurity best practices, and infrastructure resilience.
- Experience supporting telecommunications systems and enterprise hardware procurement.
- Familiarity with relational databases and networked application environments.
- Strong vendor management and project coordination skills.
