Local Guide & Orientation — Short Paid Engagement | Mindelo, Praia,Sal ,São Vicente - Cape Verde

I'm a software engineer Digital Nomad from Nigeria traveling to Mindelo, Praia,Sal São Vicenten to explore the islands. I work remotely for clients in the United States and United Kingdom. I'm looking for someone from São Vicente to show me around and help me get oriented during my first weeks.

What this is

A short, paid, one-off engagement - not a job and not ongoing work. Being clear about that upfront so nobody's time is wasted.

What I'm asking for

• Showing me around Praia,Sal, Mindelo - Praça Nova, the mercado municipal, Laginha, which bairros are good to live in
• Practical setup: SIM card (CVMóvel or Unitel), opening a bank account, finding longer-term accommodation, Residency (if needed).
• Basic Kriolu and Portuguese interpretation where mine runs out
• Honest local advice - what a fair price looks like, what to avoid, how things actually work here

Who this suits

Someone who knows Praia,Sal, Mindelo well and enjoys showing people around. If you're interested in tech, that's a bonus - happy to talk about how I got into software and answer questions, though that's between us, not part of what I'm paying for.

No formal experience needed. English or Portuguese both fine.

Terms

• Pay: USD $100 (roughly 10,000–11,000 escudos ) for 7-20 days between september and october
• Transport, meals and entry fees during our time out are covered by me, separate from the fee

• We'd sign a simple one-page agreement so scope and payment are clear both ways.
