Position Summary:
The UI/UX Designer is responsible for designing and implementing accessible, responsive, and user-centered interfaces for a large-scale technology platform. This role translates user research, wireframes, and visual designs into high-quality production interfaces using modern front-end technologies while ensuring compliance with Section 508 and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
Working closely with Human-Centered Design specialists, Product Owners, back-end developers, and other delivery team members, the UI/UX Designer contributes to a consistent and intuitive user experience across the platform. The role also develops reusable interface components, supports usability testing and iterative design improvements, and leverages AI-assisted tools to improve front-end development quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces for the platform.
- Translate wireframes, prototypes, mockups, and approved visual designs into production-ready front-end components.
- Develop application interfaces using a modern front-end framework such as React or an equivalent technology.
- Write and maintain CSS and related front-end code to deliver consistent, responsive user experiences.
- Ensure interfaces comply with Section 508 and applicable WCAG accessibility standards.
- Identify and remediate accessibility issues in user-interface components and interaction patterns.
- Build, maintain, and enhance reusable UI components and design-system assets.
- Collaborate with Human-Centered Design specialists, Product Owners, designers, back-end developers, and other delivery team members.
- Support usability testing by helping prepare prototypes, observing user interactions, documenting findings, and implementing approved improvements.
- Participate in iterative design and development activities based on usability findings and stakeholder feedback.
- Review implemented interfaces for visual consistency, accessibility, usability, and alignment with approved designs.
- Support integration between front-end interfaces and back-end application services.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve front-end development, code quality, accessibility reviews, testing, and productivity.
- Participate in Agile planning, refinement, design reviews, demonstrations, and other delivery activities.
Minimum Experience:
- 3+ years of professional front-end or UI development experience.
- Experience developing interfaces using modern front-end frameworks.
- Experience implementing responsive layouts using CSS.
- Experience applying accessibility requirements to web-based user interfaces.
- Experience collaborating with designers and back-end development teams.
Mandatory Skills:
- Front-end or UI development.
- React or an equivalent modern front-end framework.
- CSS and responsive interface development.
- Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards.
- Ability to translate designs and wireframes into production interfaces.
- Collaboration with design and development teams.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Pay Rate Range:
$100,000 – $110,000
Degrees and Certifications:
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Web Development, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred
- Section 508, WCAG, accessibility, UX, or front-end development certification.
- Relevant Agile or Human-Centered Design certification.
