About the job
About FILTR
FILTR is an AI-powered research platform for people who create. We’re building a human-curated library of references across fashion, music, film, advertising, design, technology, media, culture, and ideas—then using AI to make that research easier to discover, connect, and use.
About the Role
We’re looking for a curious, culturally aware Curation Intern to help grow FILTR’s research library.
Think of this role as part researcher, part editor, and part tastemaker.
You’ll spend your time discovering compelling articles, campaigns, interviews, videos, creative projects, cultural moments, and other references from across the internet and evaluating whether they belong in FILTR.
We aren't looking for someone to simply find more content. We’re looking for someone who can develop judgment about what is worth preserving, connecting, and making discoverable.
What You’ll Do
- Research new references across fashion, music, film, advertising, design, technology, media, culture, and ideas.
- Monitor a curated ecosystem of publications, platforms, archives, creators, and other sources.
- Identify emerging ideas, recurring themes, historical connections, creative references, and meaningful shifts.
- Evaluate potential references based on relevance, substance, originality, and their ability to connect to the broader FILTR library.
- Prepare recurring curation reports containing your strongest recommendations and a concise explanation of why each reference matters.
- Submit recommendations for editorial approval before they enter FILTR's ingestion pipeline.
- Develop deeper expertise in specific categories based on your interests and strengths.
- Help identify new publications, archives, creators, and sources FILTR should be following.
What We’re Looking For
You might be a great fit if you're the person who is always finding something before everyone else does. You read widely, follow rabbit holes, notice connections between old and new ideas, and have strong opinions about what is actually interesting.
We're especially interested in candidates studying fashion, music, media, communications, journalism, advertising, film, design, cultural studies, marketing, or related fields.
Strong candidates will be curious, detail-oriented, comfortable conducting independent research, able to articulate why something matters, and interested in developing their editorial judgment.
What You’ll Learn
You'll get hands-on experience helping build the research corpus behind an early-stage technology company. You'll learn how FILTR approaches research, curation, cultural signals, information quality, and human judgment—and how those inputs eventually become structured data used by an AI-enabled product.
You'll also work directly with FILTR's founder and have an opportunity to help shape how our curation function develops as the company grows.
