About the job
Cruitical is hiring on behalf of an AI hardware and software startup building interfaces that move at the speed of thought. Their device listens across conversations, meetings and the signals of everyday life, then acts on them. Because calendar and email are connected, it drafts the follow-up and completes the task instead of only reminding you it exists. Seed-funded and only months old, they already have a global team dozens strong and a founding team that has built and shipped a category-leading device in this exact space. Closed beta is live and going well. Public launch is being prepared. This is one of the first hires on their San Francisco team.
The Role:
You build and run the community wherever the early users already are, and turn the people who love this product into the people who sell it for you. That's moderation and daily engagement, events online and in person, and the loop back into product and research so what the community says actually changes what gets built.
The community is small, early and unusually engaged right now, which is the good version of this job. You're shaping norms while it's still possible to shape them.
Month 1: The presence exists and it's yours. Discord, X, wherever else the users are, running daily with a voice that sounds like a person rather than a brand account.
Month 3: You know who the power users are by name, they're talking about the product publicly without being asked, and product has changed at least once because of something the community told you.
Who thrives here:
- You've built a community, not only kept one running. Grown for a consumer or prosumer product, on Discord and X or wherever the users actually were. Inheriting a healthy community is a different skill from starting one.
- You write well, in public, under your own name. Nearly all of this job is written and visible. The role expects you to become a recognisable figure in the community, which is much easier if you already operate that way.
- You're comfortable with an undefined remit. The scope gets shaped with the GM as the work surfaces. There is no playbook waiting for you and nobody is going to write one.
Some nice-to-haves:
- In-person event and meetup coordination
- Developer relations or advocacy background
- Multi-lingual
Why this role?
Most community roles are handed a brand and asked to keep it warm. This one starts before public launch, which means the tone, the platforms and the relationships are all still yours to decide. The people you recruit now become the loudest voices at launch.
You'd work directly with the US GM, partner with GTM on campaigns, and sit close enough to product and research that community insight has somewhere to go. Meaningful equity, a small team, and hybrid in San Francisco.
About the hiring process
This role is being filled through Cruitical's assessment platform. Everyone who applies gets an actual shot at the role and guaranteed actionable feedback.
Instead of six rounds of interviews, you'll complete a structured work simulation that mirrors the actual job. You'll work with real tools, solve an ambiguous problem, and demonstrate how you think. The company gets signal on what you can actually do. You get signal on whether this is work you'd enjoy.
You do this once, and we match you to fitting jobs at accelerated stages. Fair, and fast, for everyone involved.
