Role Summary
LearningMate is seeking a Hands-on Consulting Solution Architect (Principal Solution Architect) who combines deep, code-level engineering roots with C-suite consultative leadership. In this remote, client-facing role, you will lead complex client engagements for major US-based institutions, architect high-throughput, resilient cloud applications, and direct global engineering teams.
You are a builder-architect at heart—equally comfortable writing and reviewing core microservice code, conducting deep-dive root cause analyses on failing systems, and leading high-stakes architectural strategy sessions with client executives.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Hands-On Platform Architecture: Design, build, and optimize scalable, cloud-native enterprise platforms. Perform hands-on prototyping, core framework development, and critical code reviews across microservices, databases, and message brokers.
- Drive Executive Client Advisory & Engagement: Act as the primary technical advisor for client CTOs, VP-level stakeholders, and product leaders. Translate business needs into multi-year technical roadmaps, lead "build vs. buy" analyses, and articulate architectural trade-offs with clarity.
- Guide & Lead Global Engineering Teams: Mentor and lead distributed engineering teams across the US, India, and other global centers. Foster outcome-driven ownership, technical rigor, and cross-functional agility across the development lifecycle.
- Orchestrate GenAI & SDLC Automation: Define enterprise strategies for embedding Generative AI, LLM integrations, and modern automation tools (Copilot, Claude, IaC, automated testing pipelines) into production software workflows.
- Troubleshoot & Modernize Legacy Systems: Lead rapid root-cause analysis for mission-critical production bottlenecks, refactor legacy monoliths into distributed microservices, and ensure seamless interoperability with core industry standards.
What You Bring
Core Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- 15+ Years of Progressive Technical Experience: A proven, long-term career trajectory starting from hands-on software development through Solution Architecture to Enterprise or Principal Architecture within client-facing IT consulting, professional services, or enterprise SaaS environments.
- 8+ Years in Client-Facing Advisory: Deep experience presenting to, negotiating with, and advising executive leadership (CTO, VP, CPO) on technical strategy, platform rationalization, and technology roadmaps.
5+ Years of Technical Team Leadership: Demonstrated track record leading global, distributed development teams (onshore/offshore) while remaining active in architectural design, code reviews, and high-level technical problem-solving.
Formal Technical Education:
- Bachelor's Degree: B.S. / B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field (Required).
- Master's Degree: M.S. / M.E. / M.Tech / MCA in Computer Science or Engineering (Strongly Preferred).
- Deep Hands-On Engineering Stack Mastery:
- Technical depth in core Enterprise back-end stacks (e.g., Java/Spring Boot, .NET Core, Python) alongside modern TypeScript/JavaScript frameworks.
- Deep experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ), relational/NoSQL databases, and API ecosystems.
- Hands-on expertise with public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Pragmatic AI & SDLC Automation Fluency: Tactical knowledge of incorporating GenAI frameworks (LangChain, OpenAI API, LlamaIndex) and modern AI coding assistants into software delivery pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)
- EdTech & Enterprise Domain Standards: Familiarity with EdTech integration standards (LTI, QTI, Ed-Fi, CEDS) or large-scale digital learning ecosystem architectures.
- Professional Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or TOGAF certification.
Why LearningMate?
- Pioneer AI-Driven Delivery: Lead the shift toward AI-empowered, multidisciplinary engineering at scale.
- High-Visibility Client Impact: Directly advise and shape platforms for top publishers, universities, and EdTech innovators worldwide.
- Global Ecosystem: Work with over 3,500 experts across the US, UK, South Africa, and India under the Straive group umbrella.
- Competitive Package: Enjoy competitive compensation, remote flexibility, and continuous professional growth.
