Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced WordPress Developer to maintain, enhance, and optimize our WordPress website. The role involves front-end and back-end development, theme and plugin customization, performance optimization, security, integrations, and technical troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
● Develop, manage, and maintain the WordPress website
● Design and implement new website features and functionality
● Customize WordPress themes, child themes, and plugins
● Build responsive web pages from UI designs and wireframes
● Manage WordPress core, themes, and plugins while ensuring compatibility and stability
● Monitor and optimize website performance, security, and availability
● Troubleshoot website, PHP, plugin, and technical issues
● Manage API integrations with third-party systems
● Implement technical SEO requirements, including redirects, sitemaps, and schema markup
● Manage hosting for the WordPress website, including GoDaddy, backups, server configurations, website migrations, and staging and production deployments
● Ensure cross-browser compatibility and web accessibility
● Maintain clean, reusable, and well-documented code
● Collaborate with design and marketing teams on website requirements
Education and Background
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
Skills and Competencies
● Minimum 1+ years of hands-on WordPress development experience
● Strong proficiency in WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
● Strong knowledge of WordPress architecture, themes, child themes, plugins, and customization
● Working knowledge of jQuery, MySQL, and WordPress database structure
● Experience with page builders such as Divi or Elementor
● Knowledge of REST APIs and third-party integrations
● Understanding of responsive web development and UI/UX principles
● Knowledge of Core Web Vitals, website performance optimization, caching, security, technical SEO, and web accessibility best practices
● Familiarity with website hosting environments and deployment processes
● Experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and marketing technology integrations is an advantage
● Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
● Good communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
