The Role

We are hiring a creatively ambitious, operationally rigorous Senior Live Producer & Programming Lead to turn promising creator ideas into exceptional live shows.

You will guide selected formats from early creative development through production planning, rehearsal, live execution, and post-show learning. You will help creators identify what makes a show worth buying a ticket for, then translate that promise into a format, run of show, production plan, and audience experience that can succeed in the real world.

Creator Partnerships brings the right partners to Ellery. Creator & Studio Success owns the ongoing relationship and launch journey. You will own the creative-production logic of the show itself: what happens, why it matters, and how it will be delivered at a premium standard.

This is a hands-on role for someone who combines a producer’s calm, a programmer’s taste, and a builder’s willingness to create the playbook while making the work.

What You’ll Do

• Develop original ticketed live formats with creators, studios, and production partners.
• Identify the central audience promise of each show and turn it into a clear creative proposition.
• Shape format elements including structure, pacing, segments, guests, audience participation, duration, tone, and repeatability.
• Challenge ideas constructively when they are interesting in theory but not yet compelling, viable, or distinctive enough for a paid live experience.
• Translate approved concepts into practical show briefs, budgets, timelines, production plans, technical requirements, and runs of show.
• Establish clear ownership across creator teams, studios, production partners, technical vendors, and Ellery.
• Lead creative and production-readiness reviews, rehearsals, technical checks, and contingency planning.
• Coordinate closely with Creator & Studio Success on milestones, risks, communication, and partner expectations.
• Work with Product and Operations to ensure that platform behavior and production workflows support the intended show.
• Protect the complete audience journey, including arrival, pre-show experience, opening moments, transitions, participation, recording, closing, and post-show communication.
• Lead or oversee live-day production with calm judgment when timing, talent, technology, or audience experience changes unexpectedly.
• Run structured post-show reviews and turn lessons into stronger repeat formats, tools, templates, and operating standards.
• Contribute to Ellery’s broader programming perspective: which formats deserve to exist, what makes them recognizably Ellery, and where the company should place its next creative bets.
• Help build the production and programming playbook for the Founding Season and beyond.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience producing live entertainment, digital formats, podcasts, television, events, theatre, creator-led programming, or adjacent work.
• Experience taking a show or format from an early concept through production and live execution.
• Strong editorial instincts and the ability to identify what makes an idea timely, ticketable, and emotionally satisfying.
• Command of production fundamentals including budgets, schedules, staffing, technical requirements, rehearsals, runs of show, and contingency planning.
• Experience coordinating talent, creative teams, production companies, studios, technical partners, and business stakeholders.
• Clear decision-making under pressure and the ability to communicate calmly when the plan changes.
• High standards for audience experience, pacing, presentation, and detail.
• The confidence to give direct creative feedback while maintaining trusted creator relationships.
• Comfort moving between strategic programming decisions and highly practical production work.
• A willingness to operate in an early-stage environment where systems must be built alongside the shows themselves.

Especially Valuable

• Experience with ticketed digital or hybrid live entertainment.
• Experience as a showrunner, executive producer, format producer, live producer, or development producer.
• Familiarity with creator studios, remote-production workflows, protected streaming ingest, and broadcast tools.
• Experience producing podcasts, comedy, music, cultural programming, sports, or talent-led conversational formats.
• Understanding of recording, rights, releases, audience safety, moderation, and accessibility.
• Experience working across US and European productions or time zones.
