About the job
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Social Research Center (SRC) is the first research and communication platform in Latin America exclusively dedicated to the Indian diaspora and to stakeholders engaged with India in the region. Historically, Latin America has lacked an institutional body that systematically examines the socio economic, cultural, and political contributions of the Indian community. This absence has hindered effective dialogue among local communities, media entities, and commercial enterprises. Our organisation addresses this gap by providing authoritative data, analysis, and strategic communication services.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the establishment and operation of a new departmental unit. This role is accountable for the overall coordination of a small interdisciplinary team comprising a Sociological Researcher and a Public Relations/Media Manager. The Project Manager will oversee all operational aspects of sociological research projects, including expert identification, outreach, data collection, and reporting. In addition, the Project Manager will represent the SRC (or organise participation of the team members) at external events and drive the strategic expansion of the unit’s activities within the Indo Latin American ecosystem.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Expert Identification and Engagement o Analyse strategic plans and internal documentation to determine the required expert profile for each research initiative. o Identify, contact, and maintain a database of qualified subject matter experts across relevant industries, academia, and government. o Coordinate interviews, surveys, and consultations with experts to obtain primary data.
- Project Coordination and Quality Assurance o Supervise the workflow of the research and PR teams to ensure alignment with established guidelines and timelines. o Consolidate feedback and raw data from the Sociological Researcher into structured deliverables for internal review. o Coordinate the research and media units to ensure that final outputs meet publication standards and strategic objectives.
- Organisational Representation o Attend and participate in thematic conferences, seminars, and networking events related to Indo Latin American cooperation. o Identify new opportunities for departmental growth and propose initiatives to expand the unit’s scope and impact.
- Reporting and Documentation o Prepare and submit weekly progress reports detailing operational status, milestones achieved, and challenges encountered. o Compile comprehensive final reports upon project completion, synthesising research findings and actionable recommendations.
- Team Development o Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle for departmental roles, including the development of position specifications, candidate sourcing, and screening. o Conduct structured interviews and evaluate applicants to select qualified personnel who align with departmental objectives and organisational culture. o Manage the onboarding process for new hires and ensure optimal team composition and capacity to meet fluctuating project demands. ________________________________________ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, team leadership, or coordination within a research, media, international relations, or communications environment. • Organisational Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritise tasks, and meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision. • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information to diverse stakeholders. • Language Proficiency: o Spanish: Native or Advanced proficiency (C1) – strongly preferred for interaction with local partners and event participation in Latin America. o English: Native or Intermediate proficiency (B1) – essential for reading briefs, drafting reports, and corresponding with international experts. ________________________________________ PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Established professional network within the Indo Latin American business, diplomatic, or academic communities. • Prior experience or demonstrated interest in subjects pertaining to India, Latin America, or diaspora studies. • Familiarity with sociological research methodologies and public relations processes. ________________________________________ COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS • Compensation: Base retainer of $1000 USD per month, supplemented by performance based bonuses tied to unit growth and research output metrics. • Work Arrangement: Fully remote with flexible working hours; adherence to the content publication schedule is mandatory. • Professional Development: Opportunity to engage with high profile experts and thought leaders, with significant creative autonomy in departmental strategy. • Thematic Relevance: Work on geopolitically and economically significant topics at the intersection of Latin American and Indian interests.
