About the job
Design the experience that makes complex strategy work feel clear, rigorous, and usable. You will turn ambiguous workflows, AI capabilities, and dense business context into a product people can understand, trust, and use to move important decisions forward.
This is an end-to-end product design role. You will influence the workflow, prototype the interaction, test the assumptions, define the visual system, and work closely with engineering through implementation.
About Tegy
Tegy is building the strategy team ambitious companies wish they had. It turns messy business context into defensible decisions, models, memos, decks, and action plans with senior-grade rigor on demand.
The design opportunity is unusually rich: Tegy must help users bring context into the system, understand how analysis is formed, work with complex outputs, and move from insight to action without making the experience feel like a generic chat interface.
Why join now
• Define and continuously improve the core workflows customers rely on.
• Work directly with founders, product, engineering, strategists, and customers.
• Solve a meaningful AI product problem where trust and clarity matter.
• See prototypes move quickly into production and customer use.
• Build the design language and system future product surfaces will inherit.
What you will own
- Core workflows. Map and design the journeys from messy context and questions through analysis, artifacts, decisions, and next actions.
- Information and interaction design. Make complex inputs, system behavior, evidence, assumptions, and outputs understandable without flattening the rigor.
- Prototyping and validation. Turn uncertain ideas into prototypes, test them with users or strong evidence, and show how the design changed.
- Product UI and design system. Establish a coherent visual language, components, states, and interaction patterns that can scale with the product.
- Implementation quality. Work with engineers through build and review so the shipped experience matches the intent and handles real edge cases.
What success looks like
The initial paid four-to-six-week product sprint should produce:
• A clear map of one important end-to-end user workflow and the highest-risk experience assumptions.
• Tested prototypes that resolve the core interaction and information architecture.
• Implementation-ready designs for the selected flow, including important states and edge cases.
• A practical foundation for reusable components, patterns, and design decisions.
• A concise readout of what was learned, what changed, and which experience problem should be solved next.
Who will thrive
• Your portfolio shows real product work from problem framing through shipped interaction, not only polished final screens.
• You can simplify dense workflows while preserving the information users need to trust the result.
• You are strong in interaction design, product UI, prototyping, and visual systems, with enough research judgment to test the right risks.
• You collaborate closely with engineers and care about what reaches production.
• You are excited by AI-native workflows and think beyond the default chat box.
Strong candidates may come from B2B SaaS, workflow software, analytics, fintech, productivity, AI tools, or other information-dense products.
Engagement and compensation
Start with a paid four-to-six-week product sprint. The project range is US$2,000 to US$5,000, depending on scope and availability. Ongoing fractional work typically falls in the US$20 to US$45 per hour range. Strong performance can expand into broader product ownership.
For sustained, high-ownership engagements, the equity range is 0.0% to 3.0%, with the specific grant shaped by scope, commitment, and demonstrated impact.
This opportunity is open worldwide, with reliable scheduled overlap with US Eastern time for collaboration.
How to apply
No long cover letter and no speculative redesign are required. Send:
• One or two portfolio examples that show the problem, your process, what shipped, the outcome, and your personal contribution.
• A short response: what makes an AI-assisted decision workflow feel trustworthy, and what would you test first?
• Your location or time zone, availability, preferred engagement model, and compensation expectations.
Candidates who advance will shape a focused paid product sprint with clear success outcomes.
Exceptional people rarely arrive on a hiring calendar. We meet strong candidates year-round and move quickly when there is a compelling fit.
