What ZERO is. No product, no funding, no traction, and I haven't decided what we're building. Deliberately. That's the premise, not a gap.

Who's here. Me. One person. No team, nobody handing you work.

This is full time. Founding team, working with me rather than for me. Not an internship, no task queue, no certificate.

On money, plainly.

Wellfound requires a number in the compensation field, so there's one there. Here's what it actually means.

There isn't any yet, and I'm not going to pretend a token figure is a salary. A number that doesn't cover your month isn't compensation, it's a way for me to feel better about what I'm asking, and you'd see through it inside a week.

So the honest position: money gets discussed when ZERO makes money, not before. And when it does, the people who were here before there was any get paid first, ahead of anything else that revenue could go to. That's an order of priority, not a percentage, because a percentage today would be a number I made up.

What this costs you is time you could be selling somewhere else. If you need income now, this isn't the place today, and that's a completely fair call.

Here's the actual job, and it's the good part. Most companies build the thing, then go hunting for people who want it. That's backwards and it's why most of them die quietly. Your job starts before the product does: building a room full of people our age who care what we do next, so that when we finally make something, someone's already waiting.

That's marketing at its hardest. If you can do it here you can do it anywhere.

What I want to see. Things you've made. Video, photo, posts, posters, a page, a thirty second edit, anything. Taste over tools, taste over follower count. Use AI if you use it well, I'm not going to check and I'm not testing your honour. But I'll be able to tell, everyone can, and if it looks generated it just means it didn't land.
