Location: Hybrid in Oak Park Heights, MN
Rate: $57-63/hour W2
DESCRIPTION
This product data analyst/developer role supports the development, maintenance, and improvement of fenestration product data and related digital systems. This role blends hands-on data analysis, digital tool development, and cross-functional collaboration to improve data quality, streamline processes, and enable better decision-making across engineering, IT, operations, and quality.
The role focuses on executing data engineering tasks, supporting system enhancements, developing lightweight digital tools, and helping teams use accurate and well-structured product data.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analysis & Data Engineering
- Prepare, analyze, and visualize Windows product data to support engineering, operations, and business teams.
- Build and maintain data pipelines, queries, and datasets that support reporting and product information workflows.
- Evaluate data quality issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
- Translate product or process requirements into structured data models and usable datasets.
Digital Tool & Solution Development
- Develop lightweight applications, scripts, or automations that improve data accuracy, efficiency, or usability.
- Support enhancements to product information databases and related systems (PLM, ERP, MES, etc.).
- Work with IT and engineering to test, validate, and deploy new features or system improvements.
- Document processes, workflows, and tool usage for internal teams.
Cross-Functional Support
- Partner with engineering, IT, manufacturing, and operations teams to understand their data needs and provide analysis or solutions.
- Assist in maintaining consistent product data across systems and processes.
- Participate in small to medium initiatives that enhance digital workflows or data governance.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations in clear, concise formats suitable for mixed technical audiences.
Technical Problem-Solving
- Investigate data discrepancies, system issues, and process bottlenecks; propose practical solutions.
- Support testing of new data structures, updates, or integrations when system changes occur.
- Identify opportunities for automation or simplification in data-heavy workflows.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare data summaries, reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Create clear documentation for datasets, scripts, system configurations, or training guides.
- Communicate progress, risks, and data trends to stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Must‑Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 2–5 years of experience working with technical product data, manufacturing data, or enterprise systems.
- Experience with data analysis and data engineering (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI).
- Ability to translate technical concepts between engineering and IT teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and comfort working with complex datasets.
- Experience with ERP, MES, PLM/PDM, or equivalent product data systems.
Nice‑to‑Have
- Familiarity with Windows products, manufacturing processes, design data, or quality systems.
- Experience building small applications, automations, or scripts.
- Understanding of system integrations, data governance, or process mapping.
- Exposure to change management or user training.
- Experience supporting cross-functional engineering or IT initiatives.
