Forward Deployed Engineer

We deploy autonomous robots to active jobsites. The Forward Deployed Engineer is first on scene — commissioning hardware, diagnosing failures in the field, and making sure every deployment goes from box to operational. This is a hands-on role that demands technical aptitude, physical capability, and calm under pressure.

WHO YOU ARE

• You've commissioned hardware in the field — from box to operational, in non-ideal conditions
• Methodical troubleshooter: you isolate variables, don't guess randomly, and don't quit when there's no playbook
• Comfortable with basic networking: IP addresses, WiFi vs. LTE, DHCP, getting a device online on-site
• Can SSH into a device, read a log file, and follow a technical runbook accurately
• Professional and calm with customers on active jobsites — you represent us well when things go sideways
• You write field reports engineering can act on, not just "it stopped working"
• Valid driver's license; comfortable traveling 2–4 days per week
• Physically capable of carrying and maneuvering hardware on active sites; comfortable working outdoors

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Field service, AV/IT deployment, or hands-on technical hardware experience
• Charlotte-area home base required — regular travel to customer jobsites
• Low ego, high reliability — you show up, you execute, you close the loop
• You figure things out when there's no manual, and you know when to escalate
