Project Manager — Customer Advocate

LightLeap AI (an N2N Services company) Location: [Atlanta / Onsite — US] · Full-time

Most companies hire project managers to manage projects. We're not hiring for that.

At LightLeap AI, the PM is the customer's advocate inside our building. You don't relay status. You don't chase tickets. You own the outcome the institution was promised when they signed — and you have the technical depth to go get it yourself when something breaks.

If that sounds like two jobs, it is. That's the job.

Why this role exists

We build AI infrastructure for higher education — Meridian, Helios, Polaris, Orion, Omnia. Our customers are 500+ colleges and universities. Their systems are old, their data is messy, their staff is stretched thin, and their students are real people whose financial aid and enrollment depend on our software working.

You can't advocate for that customer from a spreadsheet. You have to understand what we shipped, why it behaves the way it does, and what it will take to fix it.

What you'll actually do

  • Own a portfolio of institutional customers from kickoff through go-live and beyond — implementation, adoption, escalation, renewal
  • Sit in the product and engineering conversations, not just receive their output. You'll be expected to have an opinion
  • Read the integration docs. Look at the logs. Reproduce the issue before you escalate it
  • Run the hard calls yourself — the delayed milestone, the missed expectation, the executive who wants answers
  • Turn what you hear on campus into product direction; our builders can act on it
  • Know your customers' actual goals — not their ticket queue

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years in project management, implementation, or customer success in enterprise software. Higher ed, SIS, ERP, or integration experience is a strong advantage
  • Real technical fluency: APIs, data flows, SSO, identity, integration architecture. You don't have to write the code — you do have to understand it
  • Hands-on with AI tools in your daily work. Not as a curiosity. As to how you operate
  • Comfort with direct conversations. Ours is a culture where "this isn't ready" is a normal sentence
  • Executive presence with a provost or CIO, and patience with the analyst who's been running the same manual process for eleven years

What we're not looking for

Coordinators. Ticket routers. People who need a process defined before they move. If your instinct when a customer is unhappy is to schedule a meeting about it, this will be a bad fit for both of us.

Why LightLeap

We founded N2N in 2011 and built Illuminate into the integration backbone for hundreds of institutions — then deliberately retired it to build what comes next. Our fraud detection has blocked over 3 million fraudulent applications and protected more than $2.1 billion in student aid.

We're a small company competing against much larger ones, and winning, because we build fast and stay close to our customers. Our CEO writes production code. Our PMs sit in the same conversations as our engineers. There's no layer between you and the work.

How to apply

Apply via LinkedIn.

Additionally, send your resume and a short note to [[email protected]]. Tell me about a customer relationship you saved, and what it cost you.

Not a cover letter. A story.
