About the job

The Site Controller serves as the senior financial leader for the Clearwater operation and is a key member of the site leadership team. This role is responsible for the financial integrity of the business through accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, sound financial planning, and operational financial leadership.

Working closely with the Site General Manager and corporate finance, the Site Controller provides the financial insight necessary to improve profitability, cash flow, working capital, and overall business performance. The successful candidate will be a proactive business partner who helps transform financial and operational data into informed decisions, measurable actions, and sustainable business results.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Prepare financial analysis and reports for senior management to support decision-making.

  1. Accounting Operations:
  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cost accounting and general ledger.

  • Ensure proper maintenance of financial records, including journals, ledgers, and reconciliations. Administer ASC 842 lease accounting monthly.

  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

  • Apply Federal Acquisition Regulation and Cost Accounting Standards where applicable and ensure Defense Contract Audit Agency compliance.

  • Assist operations with inventory management and materials flow through production including monitoring raw material levels, work-in-progress tracking, and applying ASC 606 quarterly/monthly.

  1. Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Assist with the development of the company's annual budget and financial forecasts.

  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to identify potential financial issues.

  • Provide financial insights to the senior leadership team to guide strategic decision-making.

  1. Internal Controls and Compliance:
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.

  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors for annual audits and other regulatory audits.

  • Cash Flow and Treasury Management:

  • Oversee cash flow management, including cash forecasting and liquidity planning.

  • Ensure the company's financial obligations are met on time and manage the capital structure as needed.

  1. Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and develop the accounting team, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations.

  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages professional growth.

  1. Strategic Support:
  • Work closely with the CFO and executive team to provide financial insights and support for business strategies.

  • Participate in financial decision-making related to business expansion, investment, and cost-saving initiatives.

  1. Tax Management:
  • Oversee tax compliance and support timely filing of corporate taxes, including federal, state, and local returns.

  • Identify and manage opportunities for tax efficiency and savings.

  1. Additional:
  • Maintain Fixed Asset and Property Tax records.

  • Perform special assignments and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field

Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting and financial experience, including 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role

CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage MAS, or Epicor).

Knowledge of regulatory standards including FAR and CAS and tax compliance.

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
