About the job

Navan (Nasdaq: NAVN) is the leading all-in-one business travel, payments, and expense management platform. Our mission is to make travel easy for every frequent traveler by delivering an intuitive experience that travelers love and finance teams rely on. From AI-driven search to automated expense reconciliation, we help our customers focus on the human connections that drive their success. Our team is our competitive edge – a high-performance group of smart, driven people committed to winning together. At Navan, we provide an environment where top talent excels, offering the autonomy and fast-paced trajectory needed to build a defining career.

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our GO&S and R&D team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Finance. Your role will be critical in accelerating Navan’s strategic roadmap and taking on a variety of initiatives, including helping shape the financial strategy behind our org-wide AI transformation. This is an early-in-career role offering hands-on exposure to financial planning, strategic analysis, and business partnership with a fast-paced organization. We are looking for a low-ego individual who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and motivated to build strong business fundamentals and acumen.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner deeply across Engineering, Product, and Design leadership to strengthen visibility into financial performance, improve forecast accuracy, and ensure that investments across our product roadmap are efficient, effective, and aligned to growth priorities
  • Prepare accurate and timely recurring reporting, own variance analyses, and help translate data into actionable, clear insights for R&D stakeholders
  • Develop and manage R&D operating expenses and COGS as it relates to headcount, workforce planning, location strategy, AI/SaaS/infrastructure spend, etc.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses and build financial models as required to inform teams on operating strategies and recommendations and to support our growing global business
  • Drive process improvements through AI and automation to streamline recurring workflows, processes, and deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Procurement/Sourcing, Accounting, People, Talent, IT, and Corporate Finance, developing the skills to navigate ambiguity, ask thoughtful questions, and continuously improve processes

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; 1-3 years of work experience ideally in one of the following areas: Investment Banking, Consulting, Accounting, or Corporate Finance
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines and manage multiple competing priorities, while maintaining extremely high standards for attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and executive presence with strong interpersonal soft skills that can collaborate effectively and build trust across teams
  • A “get it done” attitude - strong sense of ownership and accountability, using a proactive approach to learn, improve, and drive work forward
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with financial planning tools (e.g. Anaplan, Pigment), ERP systems (e.g. Netsuite), and SQL

The posted pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the compensation for this position and is subject to change based on business need. To determine a successful candidate’s starting pay, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location, an evaluation of the candidate’s skills and experience, market demands, and internal parity.

For roles with on-target-earnings (OTE), the pay range includes both base salary and target incentive compensation. Target incentive compensation for some roles may include a ramping draw period. Compensation is higher for those who exceed targets. Candidates may receive more information from the recruiter.

Pay Range

$62,325—$138,700 USD
