About the Role

VCG is hiring on behalf of a leading heavy construction equipment manufacturer for the role of Robot Operator at their Pune facility. This is a 12-month contractual (off-role) engagement for candidates with hands-on experience in robotic welding operations.

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Key Responsibilities

Operate and program welding robots (IGM, Cloos, FANUC) with hands-on expertise
Apply knowledge of TCP (Tool Center Point) and calibration procedures
Feed parts to the robot and monitor the welding process
Identify and correct weld defects (cold lap, porosity, undercut, etc.)
Perform daily robot maintenance — cleaning, checking for loose connections, basic upkeep
Complete welding processes in line with production standards
Execute heavy welding tasks with hands-on proficiency

Requirements

Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Mandatory Experience:

Robot Operation on IGM, Cloos, or FANUC systems
MIG Welding (hands-on)

Technical Skills:

Robot operating, teaching, and correction (hands-on)
TCP & calibration knowledge
Ability to read engineering drawings
MIG welding expertise
Basic troubleshooting
MS Office proficiency
