This position will help drive sales through teaching, training and assisting a local sales team via designated agronomic duties. The Field agronomist will focus the majority of his/her time on the responsibilities listed below. This position will mainly serve the Northwest Iowa region. Counties in this area would include: Lyon, Osceola, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth, Humboldt, Webster, Calhoun, Sac, Ida, Woodbury, Plymouth, Sioux, O'Brien, Clay, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Buena Vista, and Cherokee.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Area Team Lead (ATL) on the following activities that will help improve sales results
Sales support activities:
Seed advisor and dealer ride-alongs
Dealer, Customer and Seed Advisor meetings and field days
Field investigation reporting/training and management
Local farm shows, Becks Field Shows, competitive dealer recruiting
Agronomy content and training
Force Multiplier training of Seed Advisors and Dealers for agronomy content
Create voice memos, videos, and other timely local agronomy content
Author Crop Talk articles, agronomy briefs, and webinars as needed from Agronomy leadership
Local product expertise and leadership
Lead and manage local choice trial walk program with dealers and customers
Coordinate local plot program and hybrid sets
Collaborate with RPS to develop product plans and successful product launches
Develop local plot data and hybrid data information
Train dealers and seed advisors on product positioning throughout the year
PFR Proven excellence
Train Seed Advisors and Dealers to apply select PFR Proven concepts at the local level
Develop PFR proven concepts for local application
Integrate PFR Proven concepts into agronomy training and meetings
Provide PFR team new ideas for testing
Assist in developing and training Seed Advisors and dealer how to utilize the PFR integration into Becks digital ag platform FARMserver
Assist in local PFR tours if practicable

Leadership development conferences and seminars
Work with ATL’s in developing strategies to help drive local agronomy plans in order to increase sales
Perform other duties as may be requested by the Regional Agronomy Manager
Job Requirements
- Education and training:
- M.S. degree in Agronomy or related field preferred
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Agronomy with minimum of three years of field experience
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy
- This is a safety-sensitive position
- Technical knowledge:
- Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) License preferred
- Basic computer and current software skills
- Chauffer license or equivalent required
- Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination and obtain Medical Examiner’s Certificate may be required
