Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Database Engineers to lead enterprise data modernization initiatives involving the transformation of legacy databases and data models into modern data platforms. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in enterprise data architecture, database design, data modeling, data integration, and large-scale data conversion strategies. This role will focus on ensuring data integrity throughout the migration lifecycle while supporting modern analytics and operational systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise data conversion efforts from legacy systems to modern data platforms.
- Analyze and design data conversion, migration, and validation strategies.
- Develop and execute data validation plans to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Design enterprise data architecture and modernization roadmaps.
- Create logical and physical data models for operational and analytical systems.
- Design database architectures supporting enterprise applications.
- Develop data integration strategies across multiple platforms.
- Implement and support modern data architectures including data warehouses, data lakes, and streaming platforms.
- Support system integration and enterprise data modernization initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments.
- Document database architecture, migration processes, and technical designs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- 12+ years (SME 3) of relevant database engineering or enterprise data architecture experience.
- Active IRS MBI clearance.
- Current Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE).
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience as an Enterprise Data Architect.
- Experience leading enterprise data architecture strategy and roadmap initiatives.
- Strong experience designing and implementing large-scale data conversion and migration projects.
- Experience with enterprise data modeling and physical database design.
- Experience designing data integration solutions for operational and analytical systems.
Experience with Big Data technologies, including:
Apache Spark
Hadoop ecosystem
Apache Kafka
NoSQL databases
Knowledge of modern data architecture patterns, including:
Data Warehouse
Data Lake
Streaming Architectures
Lambda Architecture
Kappa Architecture
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience working in Agile software development environments.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- PostgreSQL
- Advanced Data Modeling techniques and methodologies
- Data Architecture implementation and testing
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

Candidates must:
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with a minimum of three consecutive years of U.S. residency.
- Possess an active IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI).
- Maintain all required security clearances throughout the engagement.
