About the job

Customer Success Manager
San Francisco or New York · Hybrid, 2 days per week in office · $90,000–$120,000 OTE plus equity

The role
We're hiring our second Customer Success Manager. You'll work directly with our founder, product, and GTM teams to build the customer success function at a company coming off several of its strongest quarters - and you'll help decide what that function becomes.

You'd own a portfolio of enterprise accounts: onboarding them, keeping them successful, and growing them. But this is the second CS hire at a small company, so the job is genuinely broader than that. There's real room to take on the parts you're best at, whether that's building internal tooling with AI, sharpening how we onboard, developing our customer marketing and expansion motions, or bringing customer signal into product decisions.

What you'll do

  • Drive customer onboarding and implementation from kickoff through go-live
  • Build the relationships and executive alignment that turn customers into long-term partners and references
  • Provide ongoing product support, and build the resources that help customers help themselves
  • Own retention and expansion targets across a portfolio of accounts
  • Work closely with product and engineering to translate customer signal into what we build next

What we're looking for

  • Professional experience in a client-facing role - customer success, account management, sales, implementation, consulting, or similar. Internships count. What matters is that you've been trusted with a customer.
  • A strong communicator. You'll be in front of senior HR and finance leaders at companies like PwC, Klaviyo, and Chime.
  • Someone who learns new tools fast and enjoys it. You don't need to know compensation software - you do need to want to figure things out.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, and the instinct to build the process rather than wait for one.

Nice to have, not required

  • Experience in People Operations or HR technology
  • Startup experience
  • A habit of using AI tools to make your own work better

We're more interested in trajectory than years of experience. If you're early in your career and the description above sounds like you, please apply.

Compensation
$90,000–$120,000 on-target earnings, made up of base salary plus variable compensation earned on company and individual performance. You'll also be eligible for equity in the form of stock options.

About Aeqium
Aeqium is building the HCM software for the agentic era. Businesses spend millions on legacy systems to manage employee data, then millions more on consultants to implement and maintain them - often giving up and running critical workflows in spreadsheets anyway. Aeqium is the first HCM platform that's directly responsive to its users, with AI agents that do the implementation work so HR leaders can focus on strategy.

We've built our foothold in enterprise compensation planning and have our sights set on the broader HCM ecosystem. We're trusted by enterprises including Amazon, Braze, IFS, and Chime. Our team has built products and scaled companies from product-market fit through acquisition and IPO, and we're backed by strong VCs and experienced angels. Most importantly, we've lived the problem we're solving.

This role is based in New York or San Francisco and requires at least two days per week in the office.
