Working in collaboration with an advanced artificial intelligence technology partner, Deeptrade integrates AI-assisted market analysis and trading tools into its platform. The company aims to make digital asset trading more accessible and intuitive for a broad range of users, including those who are new to cryptocurrency trading, while maintaining a strong focus on compliance, risk management, and responsible platform operations.
As Deeptrade continues to develop its Australian operations and serve an international user base, the company is strengthening its AML/CTF governance framework and compliance capabilities.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced AML/CTF Compliance Officer to oversee and continuously enhance our AML/CTF compliance framework. The successful candidate will be formally appointed as Deeptrade’s designated AML/CTF Compliance Officer.
This role is designed for a senior compliance professional with strong Australian AML/CTF compliance experience who is able to operate independently, engage with regulators, and provide strategic compliance oversight on a part-time basis.
The position is Australia-based and remote, with responsibility for ensuring ongoing compliance with AUSTRAC obligations. The role reports directly to the Board and works closely with the operations and management teams to support effective implementation of the company’s AML/CTF framework.
Responsibilities:
• Act as the primary point of contact with AUSTRAC and oversee regulatory communications.
• Oversee and coordinate the company’s day-to-day compliance with the AML/CTF Act, Regulations, Rules, and internal AML/CTF policies, with operational activities carried out by the relevant internal teams.
• Review and provide guidance on the organisation’s AML/CTF Program, including governance arrangements, risk assessments, and internal controls.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of applicable AUSTRAC regulatory reports.
• Monitor relevant regulatory developments and advise the company on compliance impacts.
• Provide periodic updates to the Board and senior management on key AML/CTF risks, regulatory developments, incidents, and remediation matters.
• Coordinate independent reviews of the AML/CTF Program and provide oversight of material findings and remediation actions, as required.
Essential Requirements:
• Currently residing in Australia and legally able to work in Australia.
• Proven compliance experience within the Australian financial services industry, preferably in AML/CTF, financial crime, or regulatory compliance.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian AML/CTF legislation and AUSTRAC regulatory expectations.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, transaction monitoring reviews, and regulatory reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including regulatory correspondence.
• Basic Mandarin communication skills sufficient for day-to-day work discussions.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience within digital assets, cryptocurrency, fintech, payments, or other technology-driven financial services is highly regarded.
• Familiarity with transaction monitoring or financial crime analytics tools.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, ICA, or equivalent).
