Role Description The Construction Project Manager oversees all phases of assigned projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating field activities from pre-construction through closeout. Responsibilities include managing subcontractors and suppliers, reviewing drawings and specifications, monitoring job progress, and ensuring work meets quality, safety, and compliance standards. The role involves preparing and tracking project documentation such as RFIs, change orders, and payment applications, as well as updating project schedules and cost reports. The Construction Project Manager regularly communicates with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues, mitigate risks, and keep projects on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in construction project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and on-site coordination of commercial or multifamily projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations, and quality control processes.
- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore or similar), scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project or Primavera), and standard office applications.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Solid organizational and problem-solving abilities, including managing multiple priorities and resolving field issues in a timely manner.
- Experience preparing and managing RFIs, change orders, submittals, and project closeout documentation.
- Commitment to jobsite safety, including implementing and enforcing safety plans and practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Previous experience as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, or Superintendent in the construction industry is preferred.
