Role Description The Application Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Greensboro, NC. This role is responsible for supporting the design, configuration, and application of Vecoplan equipment and systems to meet customer and project requirements. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing customer specifications, preparing technical proposals and layouts, coordinating with sales and engineering teams, and providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle. The Application Engineer will assist in equipment selection, contribute to system integration planning, oversee testing and validation of application solutions, and help resolve technical issues in the field and at the facility. The role also involves documenting engineering decisions, maintaining accurate project records, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient solutions for recycling and waste processing operations.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Technical Support skills, including troubleshooting, customer-facing problem-solving, and application support for industrial equipment or systems.
  • AutoCAD/Autodesk or similar
  • Candidates should possess Mechanical Engineering skills, including knowledge of material handling, rotating equipment, machine design principles, and industrial fabrication practices.
  • Candidates should possess Testing skills, including system verification, performance testing, troubleshooting during commissioning, and documenting test results.
  • Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related field) or equivalent technical experience in industrial machinery or systems.
  • Beneficial skills include familiarity with recycling, waste processing, or heavy industrial equipment, proficiency in CAD tools, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to a dynamic, on-site manufacturing and engineering environment.
