Position Summary:
The Tech Lead provides day-to-day technical leadership for an Agile Sprint Team developing a large-scale, cloud-native federal platform hosted on AWS. This role is responsible for guiding engineering implementation, maintaining high standards of code quality, mentoring developers, and ensuring that team deliverables align with the platform's architectural standards and engineering best practices. Working closely with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, Solution Architects, and other Technical Leads, the Tech Lead helps drive successful sprint execution while promoting the effective adoption of AI-assisted software development tools throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and engineering direction for an Agile Sprint Team.
• Translate solution architecture into practical implementation decisions and technical designs.
• Review application code to ensure quality, maintainability, performance, and adherence to engineering standards.
• Mentor and coach software developers while promoting engineering best practices and continuous technical improvement.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner and Scrum Master to refine user stories, estimate technical effort, and support sprint planning.
• Resolve technical challenges, remove engineering impediments, and coordinate cross-team integration activities.
• Promote consistent use of cloud-native development patterns and secure software engineering practices.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted software development tools to improve developer productivity and software quality.
• Support continuous integration, automated testing, deployment activities, and release readiness.
• Participate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and engineering planning sessions.

Minimum Experience:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience serving in a technical leadership or senior engineering role.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications using AWS services.
• Experience working within Agile software development teams.

Pay Rate Range:
$175,000 – $195,000

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent professional experience).

Preferred:

• AWS Certification.
• Scrum or Agile certification.
