Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5–10 engineers, driving collaboration and technical excellence.
• Provide architectural vision and hands-on guidance in system design, performance optimization, and code reviews.
• Own the roadmap for core backend systems — from planning to execution and delivery.
• Partner with AI/ML, product, and cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant solutions.
• Establish and uphold engineering best practices in testing, CI/CD, observability, and Agile methodologies.
• Build and scale distributed systems ensuring high availability and performance.
• Play an instrumental role in hiring and developing technical talent within the engineering team.

Requirements

1. 10+ years of full-time engineering experience, including at least 3-4 years of people management.
2. Strong proficiency in Java (Core, Spring Boot, Spring MVC); Python is a plus.
3. Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and scalable backend architecture.
4. Proven success in 0–1 product journeys and high-scale B2C environments (acquisition, conversion, retention).
5. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
6. Exposure to LLM fine-tuning and vector databases is an advantage.
7. Strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile delivery processes.
8. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
