Senior Data Engineer, Query Execution

Our analytics product lets people run ad-hoc queries over data we've already loaded into memory. We're hiring a senior engineer to own the executor that runs those queries. The query arrives already parsed, as a structured spec, so there's no SQL text to deal with. The interesting part is getting the execution semantics exactly right.

What you'll do:

• Implement filtering with correct three-valued logic, so a NULL in a predicate behaves the way SQL says it should instead of as a plain false
• Handle inner and left joins correctly, including how many rows they produce and where nulls get filled in
• Get aggregation right over nulls, from COUNT() versus COUNT(column) to how empty groups behave
• Make results fully deterministic, with stable ordering and tie-breaking

What we're looking for:

• Strong Go and a solid grasp of relational and query-execution semantics
• Real comfort with SQL's NULL logic, joins, and grouping
• Care about deterministic output and the data structures that get you there

Nice to have:

Worked on a query engine or analytical database, and familiar with join algorithms
