About the job
About Marit
Marit is an AI-native clinician community and platform that helps physicians and advanced practice clinicians find and do their best work. Founded by the same team that built Glassdoor, Marit Health is the fastest-growing community and job search platform in medicine. We bring together salary transparency, job search, and community into a modern platform built specifically for clinicians. In just 15 months we've grown to more than 100,000 clinicians, and our recruiting product, launched only nine months ago, has become the most popular in the category.
Commercial demand has been extremely strong, and we are now building the function that turns those early clients into long-term partners. That is where you come in.
About the role
This is the founding leadership role for Customer Success at Marit. We pride ourselves on being the most thoughtful, helpful, intelligent, and strategic partner to our clients. Our clients are recruiting leaders at large health systems, and they really value the deep insight they get from Marit so they can recruit better and smarter.
As our founding Director of Customer Success, you will own the post-sale relationship end to end, from onboarding through adoption, renewal, and expansion, and you will build the operating machine that lets us do it at scale. You will be the bridge between our product teams and the client, prototyping custom dashboards, reports, and AI-powered workflows directly with accounts, then collaborating closely with the product team to turn them into features.
You will directly influence our net revenue retention number and drive expansion into new tiers and features, by making Marit an indispensable part of our clients' recruiting process, workflows, and intelligence. This is a hands-on, player-coach role for someone who wants to define a function from zero, create a customer success system, and eventually hire and lead a team.
What you'll do
This is a founding CS leadership role at an early-stage company, so you will do a bit of everything:
- Own the full post-sale lifecycle for our health system clients, from onboarding and go-live through adoption, renewal, and expansion
- Be the strategic partner for our clients, using Marit's proprietary compensation, hiring-difficulty, and candidate-behavior data into insight that helps them make better decisions
- Operate as a forward-deployed builder: prototype custom analytics, reports, and AI workflows alongside clients, and feed what works back into the roadmap
- Deliver strong outcomes - measured by logo retention, GRR, and referenceable clients
- Work closely with our Sales team to drive gross revenue retention, through logo retention and expansion into premium tiers and new features through demonstrated value
- Run a crisp MBR / QBR and success-planning motion that keeps every account tied to measurable outcomes
- Serve as the voice of the customer to our product team, shaping positioning, packaging, and roadmap based on what you hear in the field
- Build the function and a repeatable system: health scoring, playbooks, onboarding standards, and the systems that let CS scale as we grow
What we're looking for
- 8+ years in customer success, strategic accounts, consulting, or solutions roles, ideally at a fast-growing SaaS, data, or analytics company, with a track record of retention and expansion
- Strong analytical skills - you enjoy working with data, finding insights, and consultative in your approach
- Strong commercial instinct: you have carried or heavily influenced expansion and NRR targets
- AI-native and a builder: you use AI tools every day and you can spin up client-facing solutions fast, whether through no-code tooling, light scripting, or prompt-driven prototypes
- Strong operational habits and project management skills
- You love building a CS system - an automated, repeatable motion with a lean team
