About the job
About the Company: LightSpun is a rapidly growing SaaS company revolutionizing healthcare administration in the dental, vision, and accident insurance domains. We offer a comprehensive, end-to-end platform for providers and payers, aiming to empower our clients with cutting-edge technology for exceptional service and operational efficiency. Our work involves building AI-first scalable services for healthcare administration tasks such as credentialing, onboarding, and managing brokers, providers, members, and claims.
About the Role: We are seeking a Software Engineer to build features and services on our healthcare administration platform. You'll ship production code from early on, working within a team that includes senior engineers who will support your growth through design reviews, code reviews, and pairing. This is a remote-first role collaborating with teammates across the US and our Bengaluru engineering hub. Location: Remote (United States)
Responsibilities:
- Feature Development: Implement, test, and ship well-scoped features and services across our platform, growing toward end-to-end ownership.
- Code Quality: Write clean, tested, maintainable code, and participate actively in code reviews — both giving and receiving feedback.
- Production Mindset: Learn to operate what you build: monitoring, debugging production issues, and contributing to incident follow-ups.
- Compliance Awareness: Build with security and privacy in mind, following our standards for a regulated healthcare environment (e.g., HITRUST, SOC 2, HIPAA).
- Collaboration: Work with product, QA, and engineers across time zones; communicate progress and blockers clearly in an async, remote-first environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of professional software development experience (or strong internship/project experience with demonstrated production impact).
- Proficiency in Python or a comparable backend language, with willingness to work primarily in Python.
- Familiarity with web service fundamentals: APIs, databases, testing, and version control.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and Docker is a plus.
- Interest in AI-assisted and agentic software systems is a plus.
- Experience or interest in healthcare or insurance technology is a plus.
- Clear written communication and eagerness to learn in a remote team.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Equal Opportunity Statement: LightSpun is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusivity. We encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences. Please email your resume to [email protected].
