About Pomoro
Pomoro is a premium, clean-label, India-first Italian pasta sauce brand, currently D2C (pomoro.in) with three SKUs live. The ambition: build a ₹1,000 crore FMCG brand over the next 7–10 years, expanding from D2C sauces into pasta, pizza sauces, oils, and HoReCa. We're small, fast-moving, and allergic to corporate bloat - expect real ingredients thinking to apply to how we build the company too.
Why This Role Exists
Early-stage founders spend too much time context-switching between supplier fires, compliance paperwork, and strategic work that actually moves the needle. This role exists to close that gap - someone who can pick up a thread, run with it without hand-holding, and make real impact with complete ownership.
This is not a PA role. It's a *"the founder's second brain and third hand" *role.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Operations & supply chain
- Build systems (online and offline) that will future proof the business
- Assist in marketing & lead offline events
- Manage vendor relations, commercial terms, legal sign-off, contingency planning
Strategy & growth
- Build market-sizing analysis (TAM/SAM/SOM) and pitch materials for fundraising and retail conversations
- Support hiring for key roles (e.g. Brand & Marketing Manager) — JD writing, screening, coordination
- Turn founder half-formed ideas into structured decks, memos, and trackers
- Assist with fundraising over the next 12 months
General founder leverage
Run point on cross-functional projects where things are falling through the cracks
Flag risks before they become fires, not after
Who We're Looking For
Must-haves
2–4 years' experience in a high-ownership generalist role - consulting, banking, founder's office, or startup ops/finance
Strong Excel/financial modelling skills (this founder loves a clean spreadsheet, don't disappoint him)
Comfortable with ambiguity — you'll often be handed a problem, not a process
Sharp written communication — you'll draft things that go to investors, regulators, and suppliers
Nice-to-haves
Exposure to FMCG, D2C, or regulated food/manufacturing environments
Prior experience with GST/compliance or basic accounting fluency
A genuine interest in food, or at least the patience to read FSSAI regulations without crying
Not for you if
You want a fixed 9-to-6 with predictable tasks (early-stage doesn't work that way)
You need detailed instructions for every task (we need judgement, not just execution)
Why Join Now
Ground-floor seat at a brand scaling from D2C into retail and HoReCa
Direct, daily access to the founder - decisions happen in real time, not in committee
High variance in problems: one week it's a licence officer, the next it's a pitch deck. Never boring.
Real ESOPs that grow in value as the company grows
