We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Manager to oversee the plant operations within our facility - 3-shift operation. This is a senior operational role with full responsibility and accountability for the establishment and management of the Manufacturing, Engineering and Safety, Health, Quality and Environment (SHQE), Purchasing, Planning, Process Engineering and Warehouse functions.
Duties
- Manage and direct the SHQE function to the highest standards to ensure that all company health, safety quality and environmental management systems are developed, maintained, communicated and implemented in line with government / group guidelines and statutory requirements and are managed within the identified financial budget.
- Manage and direct all manufacturing functions to ensure all NCM, Waste, Customer Complaints and Cost targets meet company goals.
- Develop, improve, and implement operations and production plans in line with best practice and company global standards minimizing stock losses, implementing initiatives to reduce company costs and increase productivity.
- Manage day-to-day operations, establish and implement Orbia policies and procedures adhering to all company global policies, laws and regulations.
- To manage and direct the day-to-day quality function to ensure all standards set for products are met and root cause, corrective action and recovery of any failures are identified and implemented.
- Proactively drives continuous improvement and lean manufacturing from concept to reality.
- Contribute fully and effectively to the monthly senior management meetings to help co-ordinate and address issues and shape the forward direction of the business.
- Set a high standard of professionalism, quality, integrity and efficiency within the business and lead by example
- Define and implement metrics for cost and operations improvements and ensure high levels of safety, customer service, quality and people development and be responsible for strategic investment decisions for cost reduction and service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Business-Related Field preferred. Preferably qualified to degree level in a production or engineering discipline, with extensive experience in a fast moving, dynamic manufacturing environment.
- 7-10 years’ experience in manufacturing Plant Management. With 3 years’ of plastic compounds or extrusion experience.
- Must demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of latest manufacturing and improvement techniques.
- Previous experience and be able to demonstrate ability to organize, manage and motivate employees, with a sound understanding of employment law and HR aspects of employment.
- The ability to work under pressure and deal efficiently with conflicting priorities.
- Negotiation skills, able to negotiate with diplomacy and tact
- A confident communicator and inspirational leader, able to effectively engage with and influence suppliers, clients and colleagues at all levels of the business.
- Strong analytical insight and financial literacy skills, to assess viability of business improvement opportunities compiling and managing a budget, Capital Expenditure
The compensation for this position will typically range from $120,000 – $160,000/yr. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
