About the job

Summary: In this role, you'll sit at the intersection of client service and technical execution. You will set up, test, troubleshoot, and launch email, in-app, and SMS marketing campaigns for our clients, and you'll use AI tools and automation to do it faster and smarter. We're looking for someone with a customer service backbone and a builder's mindset: the kind of person who, when faced with a repetitive task, prototypes a script or AI-powered workflow to eliminate it. You won’t just execute our processes, you’ll question them, redesign them, and help define how a modern, AI-native agency operates. You'll collaborate closely with our email developers, client solutions managers, and designers to deliver exceptional results.

This is a fully remote position based in Mexico, offering flexibility and the chance to collaborate with a global team. While remote work is core to our culture, we also have offices in San Francisco, New York City, Charleston, Barcelona, and Mexico City.

About Scalero: Scalero is a Lifecycle Marketing agency with seven years of experience working with dozens of global leaders in tech, e-commerce, and services, including Notion, Figma, and Carnival Cruise Lines. As a startup, we offer opportunities to wear many hats, tackle diverse challenges, and grow into the role you envision for yourself. We're actively integrating AI into how we work, and we want teammates who are excited to shape that. We take pride in showing up every day for our team, aiming higher, and fostering a culture where every voice is heard and valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building engaging marketing campaigns for clients across different industries, including setting up, testing, and sending email, in-app, and SMS campaigns.
  • Using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar) to accelerate campaign production, QA, reporting, and internal workflows.
  • Innovating on how we work: auditing existing workflows (campaign production, QA, reporting, client handoffs), spotting friction, bottlenecks, and proposing better processes, then building, and rolling them out.
  • Identifying repetitive or manual processes and building automations to streamline them, whether through ESP/CRM automation features, no-code tools (Zapier, Make), or lightweight scripting.
  • Piloting new tools and AI capabilities, measuring their impact on speed and quality, and documenting what works so the whole team can adopt it.
  • Turning one-off solutions into repeatable playbooks, i.e. templates, SOPS, and internal tooling that scale across clients rather than living in one person’s head.
  • Vibe coding your way through complex projects: prototyping internal tools, custom reports, QA checkers, or client-facing solutions with AI-assisted development. No need to be a software engineer, but you should be comfortable building and iterating with AI as your pair programmer.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues across platforms: rendering bugs, broken dynamic content, integration hiccups, tracking discrepancies, and deliverability flags. Diagnosing the root cause rather than just escalating.
  • Assisting in developing strategic recommendations for clients, backed by data and testing.
  • Working together with our email developers, account managers, and designers to execute client requests and iterate according to best practices and insights.

Qualifications

  • Customer service or client-facing background. A strong services mentality, genuine passion for helping clients succeed, and the ability to juggle multiple requests at once.
  • Hands-on experience working with AI tools in a professional context: Prompting effectively, building AI-assisted workflows, and knowing when (and when not) to trust the output.
  • Demonstrated ability to build automations: ESP/CRM journey builders, no-code platforms, scripts, or a mix of all three.
  • Comfort with AI-assisted coding ("vibe coding") for complex projects. You can take an idea from prompt to working prototype, debug with AI support, and ship something useful even if the code isn't production-grade.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS. Enough to troubleshoot rendering issues and make template edits confidently.
  • A troubleshooter's instinct: when something breaks, you dig into logs, test hypotheses, and isolate the problem before raising your hand.
  • 1–3 years of experience in email marketing, CRM, or a technically-adjacent customer-facing role.
  • Flexibility to work across different platforms (ESPs/CRMs/CDPs).
  • Comfortable with project management tools (we use Notion).
  • Solid communication, language, and analytical skills. Proficient English is a must.
  • Excitement about building a company (and its AI practices) from the ground up.

Nice to have

  • Previous email marketing experience is ideal, but not mandatory.
  • Experience with tools like MailChimp, Braze, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Salesforce, Simon Data, or Customer.io.
  • Familiarity with APIs, webhooks, or basic scripting (JavaScript, Python, SQL).
  • Previous experience with analytical/reporting/BI tools or databases.
  • Client solutions/customer success experience.

Compensation and benefits

  • Salary range: $1,600 - $2,500 USD/month (based on experience)
  • Company laptop provided
  • WeWork or co-working space access
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Annual bonus equivalent to 1 month of salary
  • Health insurance (major and minor medical expenses)
