About the job

JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Engineer will be responsible to provide comprehensive quality support for driving quality improvements, acting as the subject matter expert in critical areas, establishing and leading process improvement initiatives and overall quality support to the organization.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and manages Quality Alerts

  • Develops and manages containment activity process

  • Develops and leads sorting/rework activities

  • Resolves quality related issues using problem solving tools (8Ds, Fishbone, 5 Whys, etc.)

  • Responsible for data collection and analysis

  • Develops Control Plan and reviews

  • Ensures adherence and drives improvements into the Quality Management System

  • Responds and interacts with customer on complaints and other customer quality related activities

  • Completes Measurement System Analysis (MSAs)

  • Assists team with Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) reviews

  • Supports change management activities

  • Mentors and trains Associate Quality Engineers

  • Supports APQP/PPAP activities

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • Passion for automotive engineering

  • Green belt certification and demonstrated experience completing 8Ds, Fishbone, 5 Whys and other problem-solving tools

  • Demonstrated experience in the completion of Measurement System Analysis (MSAs)

  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and capability requirements

  • Understanding of critical characteristics

  • Self-motivated and team-work spirit

  • Confident and willing to deal with problems and new tasks

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

  • Strong attention to detail

LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Minimal travel required for this role.
