Senior Software Engineer
New York, NY | Full Time
We’re growing — there are multiple roles available!
💊 Why Squad Health
Squad Health is solving the number one problem—access—in the $500B specialty medication market. We’re doing this by obsessively solving the root cause of the problem: providers are drowning in dozens of hours of administrative work per week on medications, from benefits verification to prior authorizations to patient assistance. We are solving the problem for providers and, by extension, their patients, by integrating with not only their systems (e.g. EMRs) but with every key stakeholder—payers, pharmacies, pharmaceutical manufacturers. Our AI platform dramatically increases a patient’s ability to get access to life-changing therapies by centralizing and automating these complex workflows and in doing so we are driving scaled impact for manufacturers who see access as their number one barrier to success.
In the near future, a significant percentage of the expensive medications in the US will go through Squad’s platform. Providers will start every prescribing journey by sending the order or prescription to us, and our platform will take over from there. Our belief is that by being the first medication access platform to truly put providers and their patients first, we will transform how they experience the medication journey and eliminate the overwhelming barriers to access that exist today.
The proof is in the pudding! We already work with thousands of providers across 40 states and are doubling our doctor and patient footprint every few months. We are backed by world class investors who understand the magnitude of the opportunity in front of us, including CRV, Menlo, Defy, and BoxGroup — we continue to grow the team across every function to meet our ambitions.
🧑🏽🔬 Why this role
We’re looking for a fullstack engineer to help scale Squad Health’s specialty medication access
platform for independent specialty providers. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role for
someone who wants exposure across our entire stack — whether it’s shipping powerful provider-facing features, scaling the integrations that automate the work for tens of thousands of prescriptions per week, or building the world’s most accurate AI for medication prior authorizations, appeals, and more.
The coolest thing about building at Squad is the breadth of what our platform does — we touch every AI modality, from parsing to voice to browser automation and everything in between. If you want to get an opportunity to build a truly full stack AI-native product in 2026, there is no better place to learn and grow.
You will work very closely with the entire engineering team, learning very quickly from everyone on the team in their areas of expertise. You will work closely with the founders, other engineers, and our operations and provider success on complex and impactful product problems. You will own projects from inception to outcome — we care just as much about the impact of what you built as how you built it.
Most importantly, we are solving technically ambitious, real world problems, so you will maintain a high bar for everything we do — from how we design our systems to how we build products to how we work as a company. You will be a big part of defining our culture and setting our norms.
🔍 What we’re looking for
- 3+ years of experience working as a full stack software engineer with a proven track record of building and maintaining full stack web applications
- Experience and proficiency across a range of technologies (we use Python, React, PostgreSQL, Redis, Langchain, etc)
- Track record of moving quickly and delivering outstanding outcomes at fast-growing, product-driven companies
- Strong written and verbal communication that allows you to be an effective internal collaborator and external representative of Squad Health
- NYC-based and able to work from our Flatiron office (we do ~1 WFH day / week)
🎉 What we can offer you
- Highly competitive salary ($180-220k)
- Meaningful equity as an early engineer so that you are truly invested in our success
- Opportunity to work in person in Flatiron (near Madison Square Park) with an ambitious, talent-dense team at a fast-growing, well-funded early stage AI healthtech startup backed by top-tier investors
- 100% premium coverage for health, dental, and vision insurance among other benefits
