About Squama Marketing

Squama Marketing is a growing digital marketing agency specializing in custom WordPress websites, lead generation, and marketing systems for service-based businesses.

We're currently transitioning from a solo operation into a team. We already have active client projects and new work coming in, and we're looking for a frontend developer who wants to grow alongside the business.

This is an opportunity to become an early team member and play a direct role in helping build the agency.

About the Role

We're looking for a Frontend WordPress Developer with strong experience using WordPress and Elementor to build clean, responsive, high-converting websites.

This role combines paid client work with contribution work on Squama's internal projects.

Contribution work includes helping improve the agency itself by building marketing assets, internal websites, templates, and other projects that support future growth. As the company grows, our goal is to create consistent work, increase project budgets, and establish a recurring base pay for core team members.

All client work is paid unless discussed otherwise before the project begins.

Responsibilities

• Build custom WordPress websites using Elementor
• Develop responsive landing pages and business websites
• Work with WooCommerce when required
• Configure and customize WordPress plugins
• Ensure websites are optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile
• Improve website speed and user experience
• Collaborate with design, copywriting, and marketing team members
• Continuously improve development workflows and standards

Requirements

Required

• Strong WordPress experience
• Strong Elementor experience
• Experience working with WordPress plugins
• Solid HTML and CSS knowledge
• Experience building responsive websites
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills
• Takes initiative and enjoys solving problems

Nice to Have

• WooCommerce experience
• JavaScript
• PHP
• Basic SEO knowledge
• Website performance optimization
• Experience using AI tools to improve workflow

Compensation

• Paid contract work for client projects
• Current average project pay ranges from $100–$500 CAD+ depending on project scope
• Opportunity for increasing project rates as the agency grows
• Long-term goal of recurring work and a base pay for core team members
